„Espresso with... Florence Hartmann“ was held on April 10, 2012 at ACIPS premises. The  discussion was moderated by Gorana Mlinarević, ACIPS' Steering board member. While introducing herself, our interesting guest portrayed her professional development from being a Le Monde correspondent for former Yugoslavia to being a spokesperson to the main prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY). During the conversation Ms. Hartmann evoked her arrestment in 1993. at Konjević Polje by the 72. Parachute Brigade, but also her attempts to collect evidence on the involvement of the Yugoslav/ Serb Army in the war in BiH. She told us that her motivation to work as a spokesperson at the ICTY was i.a. to verify to which extent her wartime reporting corresponds to the evidence revealed by the Tribunal.

Upcoming: Espresso with Florence Hartmann Print

On April 10, 2012 starting at 17:30 the Espresso with Florence Hartmann, French journalist, writer and former spokesperson of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia  (ICTY) will be held at ACIPS' premises. We are glad that during her short stay in Sarajevo Ms. Hartmann found some time to meet ACIPS' members and discuss with us issues related to transitional justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina, having in mind the latest ACIPS' projects in the area of politics of remembrance and memorialization policies.

ACIPS: Election of New Steering Board Members at ACIPS Assembly Print

On February 25, 2012 the annual ACIPS Assembly was held. At the Assembly six new Steering Board members were elected, and the annual narrative and financial reports of ACIPS's president, Lajla Zaimović Kurtović, were adopted as well as the report by the Steering Board president, Una Bejtović. ACIPS's president reported that in the past 12 months ACIPS managed to raise funds for the implementation of 10 projects.

Regional conference „How Do We Remember?“ was organized on December 15th 2011, by ACIPS and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung at Hotel Europe in Sarajevo. Opening speeches were held by PhD Emir Suljagić, Minister of Education and Science of the Sarajevo Canton, Lajla Zaimović Kurtović, president of ACIPS and Ajla Kasumović, scientific officer at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. The regional conference gathered representatives of the civil society and the academia from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia, as well as individuals who are dealing with the issue of remembrance.

Healthy communication - The forgotten recipe for a healthier year...In a transitional post-war society - by Ardian Adžanela

Two elements that stem from the politics in the post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina and seemingly affect the health of its citizens more directly than other set of problems are the disobligingness of public administration/public services, like public health institutions, for example, and the media glutted with political conflicts in particular and problem-ridden output in general. Such humdrum existence of post-war ordinary Bosnians, the forgotten survivors, coupled with that usual everyday stress of modern living introduced to Bosnia after the war some 15 years ago, such as work-related stress-for those who have the job, family-related stress, traffic etc. favors the building of bad stress.
