Spanish Society for International Human Rights Law, the Association Alumni of the Center for Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies (ACIPS), and the International Association of Peace Messenger Cities, with the support of the Office of the Ombudsman for Human Rights in BiH and the regional government of Catalonia are organizing the „Balkan regional expert meeting on the human rights to peace" which will be held on 30th October at the premises of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 At the invitation of the NGO Council, the president of ACIPS, Sanel Huskic, gave a presentation on the topic Progress Report by the Delegation of European Commission. In addition to Mr. Huskić panelists, at the panel Strengthening of the NGO Council, were Ms. Alida Vračić from Populari, and Ms. Lara Scarpitta from the Delegation of European Commission in BiH. The event was held at the premises of the Delegation of European Commission. |

The Department of International Cooperation of the British Embassy in BiH (DFID) published a report on assessment and analysis of EU accession risk factors for Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to the report, Bosnia and Herzegovina has made some progress on the liabilities in the context of the European Partnership, but at the same time regressed in other areas. Analysts of DFID believe that the current State is so dysfunctional that the abilities to negotiate details of the Acquis chapters, if reaching candidate status, is in question. |

The Human Rights Center at the University of Sarajevo published a report on human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the year 2008. The report is divided into four chapters: (1) legal regulations of human rights, (2) the application of human rights, (3) human rights in the legal awareness of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and (4) human rights in practice. This is the first synthetic report on human rights in BiH, and aims to display and evaluate the existing constitutional and legal solutions in this area. |
